Aerostat System Operator

Position Overview:

Talos Mission Solutions is seeking qualified candidates for various positions supporting an Army Aerostat contract in overseas locations. We are interested in individuals with a robust technical background who have experience in deployed environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the hands-on operation of the aerostat system, including tasks related to launch, in-flight management, recovery, and moored operations.
  • Execute all operational functions for the aerostat, which serves as an Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform, along with its Mobile Mooring Platform (MMP), sensor payloads, and communication systems.
  • Utilize associated support equipment, including Boom Lifts, Forklifts, All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), and Electrical Power Generators.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, complemented by formal technical training from military or civilian institutions.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Operator Level 1 Requirements:

Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Experience in Electronic Maintenance with a strong background in radar, ISR, electronic warfare, communication systems, and avionics repair.
  • Background in ISR operations with extensive experience in airborne or ground data collection and dissemination.
  • Information technology expertise with certifications such as Network Installation (BICSI or Network+ or Comp T Certification); preferred qualifications include CCIE certification and fiber optic certification.
  • Mechanical Maintenance experience with a focus on repairing and troubleshooting diesel generators, vehicles, automotive engines, hydraulics, and aircraft mechanical systems.

Deployment Considerations:

Candidates must be prepared to work and reside on U.S. Military Bases and at remote locations with limited accommodations. These overseas assignments may be near areas of potential conflict. Additionally, candidates must fulfill all physical, medical, and other deployment requirements as stipulated by current DOD regulations.

Additional Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Possession of a valid U.S. passport is required.
  • A current U.S. DOD Secret Security Clearance is essential.
  • Vaccination against COVID-19 is mandatory.
