Key Responsibilities

  • Safety First: Prioritize personal, crew, patient, and bystander safety by assessing emergency scenes and maintaining awareness of dynamic conditions.
  • Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough patient evaluations and deliver care according to established protocols and procedures, ensuring appropriate treatment and transport decisions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage in ongoing training and skill enhancement, participating in departmental training sessions and competency evaluations.
  • Transport and Care Transfer: Verify patient identity prior to transport, communicate with receiving facilities, and ensure safe delivery while providing accurate patient care reports.
  • Documentation: Complete and maintain accurate electronic Patient Care Reports (ePCR), ensuring that all necessary documentation is provided to receiving facilities.
  • Patient Advocacy: Address special patient needs and concerns, ensuring they are communicated to hospital personnel for appropriate follow-up.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily checks and maintenance on equipment, ensuring readiness and reporting any deficiencies to supervisors.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Texas Department of State Health Services EMT-B License
  • Valid Texas Driver's License
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $17.60 per hour.
