Key Responsibilities

  • Remain vigilant and observant at all times, consistently monitoring for unusual or hazardous activities.
  • Exhibit a commanding and authoritative demeanor to deter potential wrongdoers.
  • Guard entry and exit points; verify that only authorized individuals are permitted access; conduct security assessments on individuals entering the premises.
  • Facilitate guest check-in and security protocols (including pat-downs and bag inspections); issue visitor passes as necessary.
  • Seize contraband and any unauthorized items.
  • Accompany employees to their vehicles during nighttime hours upon request.
  • Detain and apprehend unauthorized individuals.
  • Document incidents and report findings to supervisors.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with fellow security personnel (utilizing radio communication) to uphold a secure environment.
  • Patrol the perimeter of the building and/or property, searching for potential security vulnerabilities (such as unlocked doors or broken windows) and respond appropriately.
  • Monitor security cameras and video feeds.
  • Set and respond to alarms; activate alarms and/or request external assistance (law enforcement, fire department, medical services, etc.) when necessary during emergencies.
  • Follow directives from supervisors; adhere to company protocols, state laws, and regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with self-defense techniques and/or prior experience in security is advantageous; First-Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
  • Must successfully pass state background checks and drug screenings; maintain a clean driving record.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a background in conflict resolution; ability to de-escalate tense situations effectively.
  • Physically and mentally fit, capable of standing for extended periods, including night shifts.
  • Possess a calm and confident demeanor.
  • Willingness to intervene in potentially hazardous situations to ensure the safety of others.
  • Strong observational skills; proficient in identifying suspicious behaviors and activities.
  • Sound judgment and ethical integrity.
