Compensation and Benefits for Lead School Bus Drivers:

• Competitive pay of $23.00 per hour.

• A retention bonus of $1,500.00 awarded after one year of employment.

Qualifications for School Bus Lead Drivers:

• Candidates must possess a valid CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.

• A clean driving record is essential.

• Must be able to pass a background check, DOT physical, and drug screening.

• Consistent attendance is crucial.

• Strong communication skills are required to interact professionally with staff, students, and parents, with an emphasis on customer service.

Daily Responsibilities of a School Bus Lead Driver:

• Oversee morning and afternoon routes to ensure all assigned buses are staffed, alerting the Operations Manager of any absences.

• Operate any necessary route in the absence of a regular or substitute driver, including field trips.

• Familiarize yourself with the routes assigned to other drivers.

• Conduct monitoring and assessment of pre and post-trip inspections for assigned drivers, including bus cleaning and parking procedures.

• Fulfill various assignments as required, which may include routes, field trips, or other transportation-related duties, subject to daily changes.

• Adapt to varied working hours and manage daily assignment changes with flexibility.

• Provide assistance in the Transportation Office as needed, reporting to and operating from various locations.
