Key Responsibilities:

The Sales Design Engineer will collaborate with Account Executives to provide technical expertise during the pre-sales process for opportunities such as Request for Proposal (RFP), Design-Build, and Design Consulting.

The SDE will be responsible for completing all technical deliverables required for each opportunity, including:

  • Complete bill of materials with pricing
  • Labor estimate
  • Scope of work

The SDE will accompany Account Executives to in-person and virtual customer meetings as needed.

For Design-Build and Design Consulting opportunities, the SDE will collaborate with Account Executives to determine and understand our customers' existing workflows, business/operational needs, and technology/collaboration strategy to design solutions that best meet their functional requirements.

The SDE will establish and maintain positive and effective lines of communication with Account Executives and our customers.

The SDE will attend in-person and/or virtual discovery meetings to identify our customers' technology and business requirements.

The SDE will validate solutions for standard RFP/RFQ and Consultant Design-Bid opportunities.

The SDE will review RFPs in detail and identify areas of concern for review by Account Executive or Director of Sales Engineering.

The SDE will submit technical RFIs during the bid process as needed.

The SDE will review architectural, electrical, and mechanical documentation related to infrastructure and equipment installation requirements.

The SDE will provide consistent quality deliverables to the Account Executives to be included in proposals.

The SDE will participate in internal kick-off meetings with the assigned Project Team after contract award and provide knowledge transfer to the assigned Design Engineer.

The SDE will maintain communication with the Design Engineer and review Drawing Package submittals prior to system implementation to ensure design intent is met.
