About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax, Estate & Trust Manager to join our team at Geffen Mesher & Company PC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting clients in identifying, developing, and implementing estate, gift & trust tax planning strategies designed to minimize transfer taxes and maximize wealth accumulation and equitable asset distribution to heirs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze estate planning documents, including wills, codicils, and trust instruments, to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and review gift tax returns, particularly those related to the formation of insurance trusts, marital trusts, charitable lead trusts, and charitable remainder trusts.
  • Prepare fiduciary accounting and ensure accurate and timely completion of tax returns.
  • Manage client relationships and communicate effectively with estate attorneys to ensure seamless execution of estate planning strategies.
  • Engage in special projects related to client matters involving tax accounting, consulting, and research.
  • Plan, supervise, and complete complex engagements, ensuring high-quality results and timely delivery.
  • Provide exceptional client service and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with tax changes and issues that may impact our clients.
  • Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and contribute effectively to complete tasks and develop ideas and processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in fiduciary preparation, preferably with a certified public accounting firm.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or in the process of becoming one.
  • Strong background in working with high-net worth individuals, family organizations, and closely held entities in the estate, trust, and gift tax arena.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office technology suite.
