Job Title: MRI Technologist

Department: Diagnostic Imaging

Schedule: Part Time

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform MRI examinations requiring a thorough understanding of anatomical positioning, MRI protocols, and equipment to produce high-quality results.
  • Ensure patient safety and well-being by managing delivery of care and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, providing clear instructions to obtain desired results and minimize anxiety.
  • Assess and screen patients for potential risk factors, documenting patient history and pertinent information.
  • Follow established departmental protocols for procedures, unless specified otherwise by the Radiologist.
  • Verify patient demographics and communicate with attending Radiologists to ensure accurate and timely care.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation and maintain a clean and safe MRI environment.
  • Prioritize and organize work assignments, adjusting priorities as needed to ensure efficient and effective care.
  • Exercise proper precautions to ensure the safety of patients and staff while performing duties.
  • Conduct routine quality control checks to ensure equipment is in acceptable condition.
  • Prepare and assist in the administration of contrast materials, as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate knowledge and compliance with safety, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform daily, monthly, semi-annual, and annual Quality Control checks to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Experience with power injectors is preferred.
  • Attend departmental meetings to stay informed and contribute to team discussions.
  • Perform other job duties as required to support the Diagnostic Imaging Department.
Requirements:
  • BLS certification is required.
  • 1-3 years' experience in MRI technology is preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited MRI program with current MRI certification is required.
  • ARRT or ARMRIT certification is required; IV certificate is preferred.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft applications and Electronic Medical Record Systems.
