Position Overview: The Vocational Instructor for Masonry Trades is responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive educational program within the Career Technology Education (CTE) framework. This role focuses on delivering high-quality instruction in a hands-on learning environment, ensuring students acquire essential skills for successful careers in masonry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instructional Planning: Develops and implements effective teaching strategies tailored to meet the diverse needs of students, utilizing various instructional materials and technologies to enhance learning experiences.
  • Student Assessment: Regularly evaluates student performance and progress, adapting instructional methods as necessary to support individual learning goals.
  • Classroom Management: Maintains a positive and productive classroom environment, managing student behavior to foster a conducive learning atmosphere.
  • Industry Certification Preparation: Prepares students for industry-recognized certification exams, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills required for success in the field.
  • Collaboration: Works closely with colleagues and industry professionals to create and sustain career pathways that facilitate student internships, apprenticeships, and job placements.
  • Professional Development: Engages in ongoing professional growth opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Career and Technology Education or a related field, or equivalent experience in the masonry industry.
  • Possession of or eligibility for relevant teaching certifications.
  • Three to five years of practical experience in masonry or a related trade.
  • Teaching experience is preferred, including student teaching opportunities.
