Lead RN Med Surg FT Days

The Clinical Lead RN Med Surg Full Time position at Carondelet St. Marys Hospital is a dynamic role that requires a registered nurse with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. As a Clinical Lead, you will assist the nurse manager/director in coordinating, directing, and evaluating patient care, unit activities, and staff performance on an assigned shift.
Responsibilities- Supports, evaluates, prioritizes, and supervises patient care and unit needs during assigned shift.
- Serves as designee for unit matters in nurse manager/director absence.
- Makes assignments for staff to meet patient care needs and for incoming patients.
- Makes patient assignments and delegates unit-specific task assignments to ensure patient care and unit needs are met.
- Evaluates staffing by considering mix of caregivers, patient volumes (current and anticipated), patient acuity, and staff availability.
- Demonstrates timely and effective communication skills in daily interactions with team members and others.
- Seeks to proactively improve quality of services provided and patient care outcomes.
- Serves as unit champion and resource to staff for quality and patient safety initiatives and issues.
- Effectively uses change management methods to support improvement activities.
- Serves as role model for exceptional customer service and facilitates and actively participates in service recovery efforts during the shift on unit.
- Provides professional/technical/clinical/coaching support for nursing associates.
- Assists and actively participates with nurse manager/director with quality projects and staff annual performance evaluations.
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Valid current Arizona Nursing License.
- Required in area of clinical specialty within 3 years from ANCC or other approved credentialing entity (e.g., critical care: CCRN).
- Must have functioned in an RN role for a minimum of 1 year clinical experience required. 1 year of ICU experience required (prefer Neuro ICU exp).
- Use of general patient care equipment and communication equipment; use of unit-specific equipment (clinical and general).
- Ability to adapt to changes in healthcare technology and support others in transition and learning.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
