Position Overview
The Culinary Leader role is pivotal in delivering exceptional quality and service, prioritizing the culinary experience for guests and team members alike. This position oversees the execution of all back-of-house functions, ensuring guest satisfaction, food excellence, and compliance with safety, sanitation, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of kitchen and dining operations.
- Demonstrate effective shift management across all restaurant aspects.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training for assistant managers and team members, focusing on food quality, service excellence, safety, and adherence to company policies.
- Ensure consistent implementation of operational systems, standards, and cost management.
- Regularly communicate objectives and updates to management and ownership.
- Maintain effective communication with guests, team members, management, and suppliers.
- Ensure cleanliness and adequate supply levels for team operations.
- Manage back-of-house scheduling to maintain staffing levels and guest satisfaction.
- Oversee inventory management and coach assistant managers in conducting weekly inventory checks.
- Effectively manage budgets, including forecasting and financial planning.
- Participate in the recruitment and hiring processes to maintain optimal staffing levels.
- Supervise assistant managers and team members to uphold food and service standards, ensuring a positive guest experience.
- Adhere to safety protocols while operating kitchen equipment.
- Handle multiple tasks efficiently, maintaining composure under pressure.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college education preferred.
- Three to five years of experience in high-volume, full-service restaurant management preferred.
- Strong leadership and motivational abilities are essential.
- Proven track record in attracting, training, and retaining top talent in the industry.
- Exceptional focus on guest service, committed to delivering outstanding dining experiences.
- Ability to set, measure, and achieve financial targets, emphasizing sales growth and effective cost management.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform tasks that involve bending, lifting, reaching, and turning.
- Capable of transporting items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours or more as necessary.
- Ability to engage in repetitive motions, including handling kitchen equipment and food items.
- Exposure to heat and the physical demands of a kitchen environment.
