ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Member Service Representative, you will be responsible for executing a range of financial transactions for members, whether in person, over the phone, or through the mail. This includes handling deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashier's checks, money orders, and cash advances. You will also balance daily transactions and verify cash totals. Additionally, you will perform various member service functions such as account openings and closings, certificate renewals, and assisting members with account inquiries. You will be responsible for closing loans electronically and addressing member questions regarding the services we offer. Actively promoting Credit Union services is also a key part of your role. You may be assigned specific tasks, including clerical duties and assisting fellow Member Service Representatives as needed. Providing prompt and professional service to our members is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Represent the Credit Union with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Process share deposits and loan payments, including cash advances, cashier's checks, money orders, and wire transfers.
  • Facilitate cash or check withdrawals and process transfers while ensuring transaction accuracy.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in transactions promptly.
  • Balance daily transactions and verify cash totals, investigating any out-of-balance conditions.
  • Present and explain Credit Union products and services to members, assisting them in meeting their financial needs.
  • Assume responsibility for additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Knowledge:
Understanding of teller operations and procedures, along with a basic comprehension of Credit Union functions.

Experience:
One to twelve months of relevant experience preferred, with a background in Credit Unions or financial institutions being advantageous.

Skills:
Strong communication abilities, professional demeanor, and good mathematical skills. Proficiency in operating relevant computer applications and business equipment, including adding machines, typewriters, copiers, coin and money counting machines, and telephones. Competence in typing is also essential.
