Summary:
Deliver direct patient care under the guidance and oversight of a registered nurse in a clinical environment. Qualification Requirements:
To excel in this role, an individual must engage in patient assessments and utilize critical thinking skills in response to various situations, observations, and communications. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Active LPN license in the state of North Carolina.
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience.
  • Current BLS or ACLS certification.
  • Preferred: 2 years of experience in Nephrology.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, OIG exclusion, and drug screenings.
  • Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations in various measurement units.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Excel, SharePoint, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Teams, and other data management systems.
  • Strong understanding of the principles and concepts in the field.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Ability to organize resources and handle repetitive tasks efficiently.
  • Capability to manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality ethics and the ability to maintain sensitive information.
  • Adherence to medical ethics principles.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) Essential Functions:
  • Collect necessary information to assess patient needs prior to the physician's examination.
    • Measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
    • Document patient weight in the electronic medical record (EMR).
    • Review patient allergies and medications.
  • Conduct laboratory tasks within the scope of practice.
    • Perform fingerstick tests for HGB after receiving appropriate training and certification.
    • Document stool card results in the EMR as required.
  • Engage in Chronic Care Management activities.
  • Provide patient instructions as directed by the physician and document medical information in the EMR.
  • Maintain precise medical records by documenting patient interactions, changes in treatment, and communication with medical providers.
Physical Demands:
  • Requires hearing, visual acuity, depth perception, and manual dexterity.
  • Involves standing for extended periods and performing repetitive motions.
  • Ability to lift or move up to twenty-five pounds, utilizing ergonomic practices.
Work Environment:
The work is conducted in a standard office setting with a moderate noise level. Employees are frequently required to stand, communicate, and listen.
