Job Summary:

Clear Creek County, Colorado is seeking a skilled Detective to join our team. As a Detective, you will be responsible for investigating crimes in the County, working closely with other agencies, and gathering evidence to bring perpetrators to justice. Your duties will include interviewing witnesses, analyzing evidence, and preparing cases for trial. Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate crimes in the County, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
  • Work closely with other agencies, including the District Attorney's office, to build cases and bring perpetrators to justice.
  • Analyze evidence, including physical evidence, witness statements, and forensic data.
  • Prepare cases for trial, including writing reports and presenting evidence in court.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to share intelligence and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest investigative techniques and technologies.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure to meet deadlines and solve complex cases.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and the public.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least 4 years of law enforcement experience, including experience in investigations and evidence collection.
  • Colorado POST certification required; additional certifications in areas such as forensic science, evidence collection, and interviewing techniques preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and the public.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure to meet deadlines and solve complex cases.
  • Physical stamina to perform duties, including standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Valid Colorado driver's license required.
  • Ability to pass a background check and maintain a clean driving record.


Working Conditions:

You will be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. You may be exposed to hazardous materials, biohazards, and other safety risks.
