The Town of Snowmass Village is seeking a skilled Fleet Technician to become a vital part of our Public Works Department.

This position requires on-site presence.

A sign-on bonus of $1,000 is available.

We are in search of a technician who will execute advanced repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics, engaging in complex skilled and semi-skilled tasks on a diverse range of gas and diesel vehicles and machinery.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Conducting comprehensive troubleshooting and repair operations on fleet vehicles and machinery.
  • Utilizing sophisticated computer diagnostic tools to carry out both preventative and reactive repairs across various systems and components in light and heavy vehicles.
  • Performing welding tasks and applying welding expertise to create new components and accessories.
  • Maintaining precise records of parts utilized and repairs conducted, while updating the fleet management software.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
  • A minimum of four years of experience as a mechanic for vehicles and equipment.
  • Strong communication, diagnostic, and meticulous record-keeping abilities.
  • Effective time management, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Proactive approach and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Capability to interpret and work from schematics and technical drawings.
  • High School diploma or equivalent, ideally supplemented by automotive and equipment technical training.
  • At least four years of experience at a journeyman mechanic level.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain State of Colorado UST Operator A and UST Operator B certifications.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain State of Colorado CDL Class B with P2 and tanker endorsements.
  • Willingness to participate in the Federal Transportation Administration random drug testing program.
