Job Summary

Leidos is seeking a licensed behavioral health professional to join our Child and Youth Behavioral, Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) team to support military families. As a Military Family Life Counselor - Child and Youth Behavioral Specialist, you will provide non-medical support to eligible faculty, staff, parents, children, and youth, including counseling, consultation, and outreach services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide counseling services to children and youth, including individual and group sessions, to address social skills development and social emotional learning.
  • Participate in activities with children and youth, such as educational programs and recreational activities, to promote creativity and positivity.
  • Build rapport with parents and families by attending installation and community events, and providing coaching and guidance to staff and parents.
  • Help children with transition adjustments, such as a new school and a new home, and provide support to families during times of crisis.
  • Communicate information regarding trends and issues at assigned installation to Team Leads, and participate in regular in-service training or other contract activities as assigned.

Requirements
  • A master's degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD).
  • Licensure to practice at the independent practice level (LCSW, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist) in the United States.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to pass a basic background check for employment, a Child National Agency Check, and Inquiries (NACI/CNACI) clearance, commonly called a Public Trust clearance.
Work Environment

As a Military Family Life Counselor - Child and Youth Behavioral Specialist, you will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing support to military families in a variety of settings, including child development centers, schools, and community events. You will be required to traverse long distances to both indoor and outdoor locations, and work in outdoor weather conditions.
