Leidos is seeking licensed mental health professionals to join our Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) team, specifically focusing on Child and Youth Behavioral support.

This position aligns with the academic calendar of the schools served, providing a unique opportunity to assist military families during critical transitions.

As a Child and Youth Behavioral Military and Family Life Counselor (CYB-MFLC), you will play an essential role in delivering non-medical support, which encompasses counseling, consultation, and outreach services to eligible educators, staff, parents, children, and adolescents.

The non-medical counseling approach is proactive, aiming to address and provide solution-focused strategies to challenges before they escalate.

Military youth encounter distinct emotional and situational challenges stemming from the demands of military life. This role allows you to connect with them at crucial moments.


Key Responsibilities of CYB-MFLC:
  • Engage with students in military-affiliated schools.
  • Observe and participate in activities with youth, offering guidance and support to both staff and parents while modeling effective behavior management techniques.
  • Deliver presentations that foster social skills and emotional learning vital for youth development.
  • Encourage creativity and positivity through approved resources.
  • Establish connections with families by attending community and installation events.
  • Assist with adjustment challenges related to new schools and homes.
  • Participate in regular training sessions and other assigned activities.
  • Relay information about trends and issues at the assigned location to team leaders.

Additional Duties May Include:
  • Responding to urgent situations across various locations.

Work Environment:

Duties are performed in multiple settings, approximately 60% indoors and 40% outdoors. Indoor activities occur within school environments governed by educational authorities.

Outdoor tasks may involve traversing uneven surfaces and exposure to various weather conditions.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • A master's degree or higher in Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD).
  • Possession of a valid independent license in the mental health field from any U.S. state or territory (e.g., Licensed Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Counselor, Psychologist).
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary clearances.
