Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team at Southtown Psychiatry. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients to develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to implement individualized treatment plans, ensuring patient safety and compliance.
  • Prescribe and manage medication regimens, taking into account patient safety and adherence.
  • Provide psychotherapeutic interventions, including individual and group therapy sessions, to support patient recovery.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure seamless patient transitions.
  • Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and continuing education activities to stay up-to-date on best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification in Psychiatry.
  • Valid medical license to practice in Texas.
  • Experience in addiction psychiatry or substance abuse treatment is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of psychiatric medications and their interactions with substances of abuse.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
