Job Overview

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
The primary responsibility of the Logistics Clerk is to accurately fulfill and dispatch product orders to clients by meticulously counting, wrapping, and packing items while completing all required documentation. This role also involves receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse and facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Processes internal and external customer orders by managing shipments and receipts through the ERP system.
  • Selects items from the 'Pick Sheet' on warehouse shelves, ensuring that product labels, quantities, lot numbers, and expiration dates align with customer and company standards.
  • Assists in preparing sterilization shipments by staging products appropriately for transport to the sterilization vendor.
  • Adheres strictly to the current Quality System (QS) Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Conducts order verification before packing, ensuring accuracy by having Logistics Clerks verify each other's orders and sign off on the pick sheet.
  • Packs products according to shipping requirements, utilizing suitable packing materials and boxes as per product and customer specifications.
  • Seals boxes securely for shipping, clearly labeling them with the customer name and purchase order number, and stages them in the holding area for dispatch.
  • Aims to meet and exceed standards for accuracy, efficiency, and timely delivery.
  • Unloads materials from trucks, processes returns, matches receipts to purchase orders, and conducts physical inventory counts.
  • Maintains a safe working environment by following company safety protocols and keeping work areas clean and organized.
  • Engages in routine 5S activities to ensure cleanliness and organization in workspaces.
  • Assists in training new hires and cross-training existing staff to maintain uninterrupted customer service.
  • May undertake additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (mandatory).
EXPERIENCE:
  • 1-3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is required.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Forklift operation skills and certification are highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ERP systems, such as Sage X3, is preferred.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow basic business English instructions.
  • Proficient checking skills to ensure item accuracy against orders.
  • Basic counting skills are essential.
  • Ability to follow established methods and instructions.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail for managing documentation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in both outgoing and incoming processes.
  • Basic computer proficiency is necessary.
  • Legible handwriting is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with various departments and personnel.
  • Capability to communicate effectively with supervisors and managers at all levels.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrated reliability and accountability in work habits.
  • Proactive approach with minimal prompting needed.
  • Willingness to learn and follow directions.
  • Adherence to company attendance policies.
  • Availability to work overtime as needed based on workload.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Some responsibilities are carried out in a warehouse setting, while others occur in a radionuclide production environment involving radioactive materials. The role is typically performed under comfortable conditions, with minimal heavy lifting required. The position involves a mix of sitting and standing tasks, necessitating strong concentration and frequent mental and visual focus.
