Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Development team as a Fund Development Assistant. In this role, you will work closely with our Director of Development to research and cultivate supporters, manage our donor databases, track and evaluate fundraising efforts, and organize events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on institutional prospects for cultivation and solicitation
  • Support grant writing and reporting
  • Update and complete our profiles for government grants
  • Update and complete our profiles for compliance organizations
  • Support the gift acknowledgment process
  • Support event planning logistics, including attendance tracking, guest management, and follow-up
  • Help organize and maintain our Development Google Drive files
  • Conduct prospect research on individual, foundation, and corporate donors
  • Maintain donor and grant databases and files, including calendaring deadlines, logging donations, generating and sending donor acknowledgements, and logging donor appreciation efforts
  • Support the creation and dissemination of our annual appeal
  • Assist with annual application and year-round tracking of 'giving' campaigns
  • Assist staff with grant application writing and tracking
  • Assist staff with researching state and federal regulations regarding donor solicitation and general development efforts
  • Support staff with logistics associated with special events, including assisting with creation of invitation lists, all logistics, soliciting sponsors, communicating with venues and vendors
  • Track and evaluate all development efforts
Requirements
  • Current or recent enrollment in an accredited undergraduate program with an interest in marketing, production, public relations, journalism, or communications, development/fundraising, or non-profit management fields
  • Graphic design experience is a must (InDesign, Photoshop, or web-based program)
  • Strong proficiency in all social media platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Adobe Acrobat and Google Suite
  • Video editing experience a plus (Final Cut Pro, Avid, iMovie)
  • HTML and WordPress experience a plus
  • Strong persuasive writing skills helpful
  • Graphic design and Canva experience a plus
