Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MRI Imaging Specialist to join our team at St. Joseph's Hospital. As a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist, you will be responsible for performing MRI procedures and adhering to MRI safety protocols for patients and staff. You will also provide patient services using Magnetic diagnostic imaging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI procedures and adhere to MRI safety protocols
  • Provide patient services using Magnetic diagnostic imaging
  • Assist patients on and off exam tables and position patients for imaging
  • Work effectively with patients of all ages and in all types of medical situations
Requirements
  • License to practice Radiologic Technology from NYS Department of Health
  • Current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • MR registry required within two years of employment
  • Injection license required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with GE MRI equipment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and set own priorities
Work Environment

May require standing for 1-4 hours or sitting 1-7.5 hours at a time. May require lifting up to 50 pounds. Heavy carrying up to 50 pounds and pulling, pushing, repeated bending, manual dexterity, and reaching above shoulder level are also required.

Occupational Hazards

Potential exposure to hazardous and toxic substances and infectious patients. Responsible for adhering to standards of MR safety and protection as established by regulatory bodies and monitored by the Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer (MRSO). Responsible to use universal precautions.
