Job Summary

This role is responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support services in a fast-paced medical environment. As a Medical Assistant - Oncology Unit, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, including personal care, hygiene, and physical comfort.
  • Perform data entry, unit secretarial functions, and equipment processing to ensure seamless operations.
  • Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for specific procedures and examinations.
  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the RN, and document all clinical activities within scope of practice.
  • Provide patient information to nursing staff for inclusion in the interdisciplinary plan of care, and document relevant patient data in accordance with work unit standards.
  • Assist with the admission, discharge, and transfer of patients, including inventorying and storing patient belongings, and orienting patients and families.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to hospital safety standards and infection prevention protocols.
  • Perform receptionist and support duties, including handling incoming and outgoing communications, and providing general support activities for the unit.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program (or military medical specialty training).
  • Six months related work experience preferred, with experience in a hospital setting and specialty unit a plus.
  • Licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Washington, and current healthcare provider BLS certification.
