Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our team at Upstate University Hospital. As an Associate Professor of Medical Physics, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and safety of radiation therapy treatments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality control of treatment dose calculations and radiation therapy planning
  • Provide technical assistance in the development of treatment plans and positioning for patients undergoing radiation therapy
  • Maintain established policies and procedures for radiation safety and quality measurement
  • Collaborate with physicians and technologists on clinical applications of equipment and radiation sources
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and techniques in medical physics and radiation safety
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in Physics
  • Certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics from the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP)
  • New York State License in Therapeutic Radiological Medical Physics
  • Experience in Radiation Oncology Physics
Work Environment

This position will provide services to the Department of Radiation Oncology, including the Upstate Cancer Center, Hill Radiation Oncology, Oswego Radiation Oncology, and the Upstate Cancer Center at Verona.
