Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of an authorized user, the PET/CT technologist will perform high-quality diagnostic procedures and carry out all related functions pertaining to PET/CT examinations.
Collaboration with Radiologists, Physicists, and Radiation Safety is essential to ensure that all equipment, policies, and procedures adhere to ACR standards, manufacturers' recommendations, and NYS Radiation Safety Guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
AAS in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, NYS license/registration in Nuclear Medicine (must obtain within 6 months of limited permit), and Registered with Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) (must obtain within 1 year of appointment). One year of experience as a radiologic technologist, plus current CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment.
Candidates with an A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, NYS license or eligible, and no experience may be considered for appointment to an entry-level (SL1) position.
Preferred Qualifications:
BS in Nuclear Medicine Technology, NYS License/Registration in Nuclear Medicine, Registered with Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), and minimum of 3-5 years of progressive technical experience.
Work Schedule:
40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, with specific hours to be determined. Rotational weekend and holiday work, with potential overtime based on departmental needs.
