As a Junior Engineering Specialist, you will collaborate closely with Design Engineers to create tools and engineered systems that enhance ICG operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery to our corporate clientele.
Your role will involve working alongside various departments, including engineering, inventory management, fabrication, and paint and body, to improve quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness throughout the manufacturing and construction phases.
You will be tasked with project coordination responsibilities, which encompass B.O.M. development, make/buy analysis, and establishing quantity and quality standards. Additionally, you will oversee testing, fabrication, personnel coordination, capital budgeting, labor tracking, and installation/commissioning planning.
In this position, you will provide valuable input on design elements for the tooling and systems necessary for producing functional equipment utilized by the industrial cleaning operations team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively communicate critical production issues to engineering, including challenges and proposed solutions.
- Remain actively engaged in the design process, articulating technical ideas and suggested modifications through appropriate channels.
- Assist with material procurement in line with purchase specifications, quality standards, delivery timelines, warranty, and field service support. Communicate material requirements through the proper channels.
- Review product designs to ensure economical manufacturability and compliance with engineering principles, organizational standards, customer contract stipulations, and relevant specifications.
- Track project modifications, update documentation, and generate construction schedules in alignment with project or engineering management.
- Understand and promote corporate safety standards in both equipment design and operational guidelines.
- Support fabrication efforts, vendor/supplier coordination, and equipment assembly as necessary.
Additional Duties:
- Engage with ICG operations to visit customer job sites and assess tooling and equipment requirements. Collaborate with the Corporate training department to educate employees on the operational features of new tools and equipment. This role may also involve working with marketing and sales to introduce and promote new service capabilities developed through innovative tooling and cleaning systems.
- Occasional travel to customer facilities for field assessments and outage support will be required to assist corporate operations teams.
