Overview:
As a Desktop Support Analyst, you will play a crucial role in delivering technical assistance to end-users facing hardware, software, and network challenges. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of desktop systems and contribute to overall user satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Address technical support inquiries through various channels, providing prompt and effective solutions.
2. Set up, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
3. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, including operating systems and application software.
4. Conduct regular system updates and maintenance to uphold optimal performance and security.
5. Assist users with account management, including password resets and software installations.
6. Maintain detailed documentation of support requests and resolutions through a ticketing system.
7. Collaborate with IT colleagues to escalate complex issues and ensure seamless service delivery.
8. Provide training and guidance to users on software applications and hardware best practices.
9. Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades and new technology implementations.
10. Manage inventory of IT equipment and assist with asset management tasks.
Qualifications:
Education:
Preferred candidates will hold an Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years in desktop support or technical support roles is required. Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, are advantageous.
Technical Proficiencies:
Proficiency in Windows 10 and 11, as well as macOS operating systems. Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 Suite and common software applications is essential. Understanding of Active Directory, network troubleshooting, and security protocols is also required.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital. Candidates should possess excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively. Exceptional customer service skills and a positive demeanor are necessary.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with remote desktop support tools and understanding of ITIL service management principles are beneficial.
Working Conditions:
Flexibility to provide occasional after-hours support may be required. Candidates should be able to lift and move computer equipment as necessary.
