Clinical Nurse Specialist

The 9 West unit is a specialized 24-bed facility comprising 20 private rooms and 2 semi-private rooms, catering to a diverse range of medical conditions, including but not limited to: Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Stroke, Atrial Fibrillation, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Chest Pain, Urinary Tract Infections (UTI), Sepsis, and Kidney Failure. The unit is supported by a dedicated Heart Failure Nurse Navigator, Nurse Practitioner, and Clinical Coordinator. Our team has received multiple nominations for The Daisy Award, a recognition bestowed by patients or their families for exceptional care. The nursing staff includes professionals with varying levels of experience, from recent graduates to those with over 30 years in the field.
Newly graduated RNs joining the team may qualify for a $3,000 sign-on bonus and a Loan Repayment program that offers up to $15,000. Inquire with your recruiter for further details.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver safe and efficient nursing care tailored to the specific age and needs of patients and their families, utilizing the nursing process to help them achieve and maintain optimal health.
Core Duties
- Utilizes the nursing process to provide effective, relationship-based care.
- Exhibits technical proficiency in care delivery, ensuring safe practices and positive patient outcomes.
- Communicates clearly and collaborates effectively to enhance patient care and clinical operations.
- Engages in professional development and contributes to the nursing practice.
- Demonstrates leadership that fosters optimal clinical and operational results.
General Requirements
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Adheres to all organizational policies and standards.

- Must comply with all regulations to securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients. Annual training and adherence to the organization's Code of Conduct and policies are mandatory.
Education
- Completion of an accredited nursing program is required.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Comprehensive understanding of nursing processes and practices is essential.
- Ability to operate a variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed therapies (e.g., stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers, and electronic monitoring devices).
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Ohio is required at the time of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the orientation period.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications may be required based on clinical area standards.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Occasional climbing and balancing.
- Constantly engaging in repetitive motions and maintaining eye/hand/foot coordination.
