Position Overview:
This role is integral to the Office of Economic Self-Sufficiency within the Florida Department of Children & Families. The Eligibility Assessment Specialist II is responsible for providing essential support to the unit's supervisor in daily operations.

2. Perform case evaluations for team members, offering constructive feedback to enhance accuracy and effectiveness.
3. Provide training and mentorship to unit staff to foster professional development.

Work Environment:
The position demands the ability to manage a substantial workload, adhering to strict deadlines while demonstrating flexibility in response to changing priorities.

Location:
Position based in Broward County.

Compensation:
Annual salary of $36,036, with internal salaries determined by departmental policy.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a minimum of 18 months of experience in the Office of Economic Self-Sufficiency, specifically in determining eligibility for public assistance programs such as food stamps, Medicaid, and cash assistance.

Typical Duties Include:
- Executing quality management system reviews as assigned.
- Analyzing case reading discrepancies with junior specialists, ensuring timely and accurate corrections.
- Reviewing and interpreting data from quality control and monitoring sources, providing targeted training in identified areas of concern.
- Following established protocols to determine eligibility for public assistance benefits in compliance with Federal and State regulations.
- Managing all aspects of case management, including tracking medical expenses, changes, sanctions, and data exchanges.
- Identifying potential fraud or overpayment cases and making appropriate referrals.
- Ensuring meticulous documentation of electronic case records as per departmental guidelines.

Employment Conditions:
All candidates must successfully complete a State and National criminal history check prior to employment. Background screening will include fingerprinting and may involve local law enforcement checks.
