Salary: The hourly rate for In Vivo Research Associate I is $24-$28, II is $28-$32, III is $32-$35.
Job Description:
As an In Vivo Research Associate, you will play a critical role in supporting critical in vivo studies for ophthalmology programs. This position involves hands-on experience with laboratory animals, biological specimen collection, and test substance administration. You will work closely with our team to contribute to advancements in ophthalmology research.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and thrive in fast-paced environments. A background in lab animal (in vivo) research is essential, with working knowledge of preclinical techniques and modalities a plus.
You will be responsible for managing and observing animals for general health and overall wellbeing, collecting biological specimens, and performing study-related activities in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice Regulations (GLPs), study protocols, and company policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Additional tasks may include administering test substances by various basic methods, topical ocular dosing in multiple species, handling and restraining animals, and providing care for all species of laboratory animals at the site.
Other responsibilities may include performing Intraocular Pressure (IOP) measurements, handling animals for imaging work, performing necropsies and tissue collection, assisting surgeons in the Operating Room, and monitoring animals for anesthesia and analgesia.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess an associate degree in veterinary technology with 1-2 years of experience, or a BS with 1 year of experience for the I level. For the II level, you will need an associate degree in veterinary technology with 3 years relevant experience, or a BS with 2 years of experience. For the III level, you will need an associate degree in veterinary technology with 4 years relevant experience, or a BS with 3 years of experience.
A combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered for this role.
