Role Summary

The Aquatic Fitness Instructor plays a vital role in leading water-based exercise sessions.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Proficient in effective water exercise teaching methodologies.
• Able to engage and connect with a diverse audience.
• Current CPR certification is mandatory.
• Strong ethical values and character.
• Exceptional communication abilities.
• Prior experience in conducting water exercise classes and relevant certifications are preferred.
• Successful completion of an E-Verify check is required.

1. Foster a welcoming atmosphere in all YMCA program areas, taking the time to engage with members personally.
2. Employ recognized water exercise instruction methods consistently.
3. Ensure classes start and end on time.
4. Actively connect with members to support their health and wellness goals, aligning their interests with YMCA offerings.
5. Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
6. Exhibit courtesy and knowledge in all interactions.
7. Ensure a safe environment by monitoring members and providing guidance on proper exercise techniques as needed.
8. Facilitate community building among members.
9. Assist members with inquiries and oversee activities in the fitness area.
10. Respond promptly and courteously to member feedback while adhering to established procedures.
11. Engage with members regarding their involvement in YMCA programs and initiatives.
12. Uphold and communicate the Code of Conduct and Healthy Living Policies, addressing member issues positively.
