This role is based at our Wallingford facility, offering a 32-hour night shift schedule with every other weekend off.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to patients on our Behavioral Health Hospital Unit. As a Mental Health Nurse Specialist, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including medication administration, education, and supervision of nursing staff.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, including intake interviews with patients and their families, to gather case history and identify treatment goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and effective treatment.
  • Administer and monitor medications, including psychotropic drugs, and record any adverse reactions or concerns.
  • Assist patients in understanding their emotional disturbances and accepting the need for treatment.
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for staff and patients, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Current RN license in good standing in the State of Connecticut.
  • Minimum one year clinical experience, preferably in acute and/or Behavioral Health settings.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
