Job Summary:

As a Transaction Account Specialist at Capitol Federal Savings Bank, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional support for our Transaction Account Services functions. This includes credit and debit card programs, deposit account chargeback processing, and other card or account duties as assigned. You will be responsible for processing daily card program functions, card program reports and maintenance, returned deposits and chargebacks, and responding to internal and external customer inquiries. Your excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment will be essential in providing both internal and external customer support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide credit and debit card program support, including application of credit card payments, card maintenance, GL reconciliation, processing and logging recovered cards, monitoring incoming card reports, and Visa settlement.

• Process ATM and check adjustments and associated transactions.

• Research and process chargeback and resubmit transactions.

• Respond to internal and external customer service requests in a timely manner, creating standardized customer correspondence using integrated software suites and non-standard correspondence as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned, including participating in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals, and complying with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.

Requirements:

A minimum of one year up to three years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. A high school degree or equivalent is required. You will need to be able to use database, spreadsheet, and word processing software suites to record and maintain records, with customer contact as necessary via verbal and written correspondence. Attention to detail and the ability to analyze customer issues, answer questions, suggest solutions, and provide counsel are essential. A significant level of credibility, trust, and diplomacy is required to be effective in this role. Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills are imperative to success in this position.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

This role requires the ability to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. You must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in an emergency situation and operating routine office equipment, including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. You must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. You must be able to work extended hours or travel off-site whenever required or requested by management. Regular in-office attendance is required. You must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on your own or as part of a team. You must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. You must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. You must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. You must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate the highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. You must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. You must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. You must be capable of exercising the highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
