Job Title: Programs Clerk

Join Management & Training Corporation (MTC) as a Programs Clerk at the Lychner State Jail in Humble, Texas. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to perform various clerical duties, including data entry, scheduling, and record-keeping.

Job Summary:

The Programs Clerk will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, performing data entry functions, and ensuring schedules are met. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform varied clerical duties, including data entry, scheduling, and record-keeping.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks, including typing correspondence, form letters, and certificates.
  • Maintain files and records, including departmental cards, forms, and correspondence.
  • Check transport lists for departures and arrivals, making necessary adjustments to logs and documents.
  • Proofread records and forms, copying information as required.
  • Receive telephone calls and visitors, referring to the proper individual as needed.
  • Promote positive social skills through modeling behaviors and intervening when necessary.
  • Maintain accountability of offenders and property, adhering to safety practices.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • One year of full-time, wage-earning clerical or secretarial experience, including computer operations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent, including word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software programs.
  • Valid driver's license in the state of Texas, with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to complete annual in-service training and pass an annual background check, approved by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
