BACKGROUND: Since 1952, Beacon Group has been dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities throughout Southern Arizona, Phoenix, and beyond. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Beacon serves over 2000 individuals with disabilities annually. We provide job training and placement, supported and center-based employment, and day treatment programs to assist the more than two-thirds of working-age individuals with disabilities who are unemployed. POSITION SUMMARY: This role is integral to the Ability One program, which aims to support individuals with disabilities. Candidates must meet the program's definition of 'disabled,' which refers to individuals with severe physical or mental impairments that significantly limit their functional capabilities, preventing them from engaging in competitive employment over an extended period. We are looking for a committed individual to oversee and train a custodial team. Prior experience in custodial work and supervisory roles is highly desirable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all custodial tasks to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Assist in the recruitment and training of custodial staff.
- Uphold all safety protocols.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and reorder as necessary.
- Complete daily administrative tasks, including timecards and incident reports.
- Notify the Manager of any equipment requiring repairs.
- Report maintenance issues and customer feedback to the Manager.
- Perform custodial duties as required.
- Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote safe practices among clients and staff.
- Participate in required safety training sessions.
- In case of an industrial accident or illness, collaborate with the supervisor to conduct an investigation and report findings to Human Resources.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as balancing, bending, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, stretching, climbing, and sitting.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to push and pull up to 10 pounds.
- Driving may be required for certain locations.
- Independently travel to various sites (preferred).
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with staff and the public.
- Good judgment and ability to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and operate equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Successful completion of drug and background screenings.
- Prior experience in the custodial field is necessary.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday, 2 PM to 10 PM, with weekend availability as needed.
