Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify opportunities for safety enhancement and risk reduction methods and programs;
  • Conduct accident and injury-related investigations and worksite safety inspections to ensure compliance with county, state, and federal regulations and guidelines;
  • Provide recommendations to mitigate and control losses;
  • Represent the Risk Management Division and participate on countywide task forces or assigned project teams in risk management and safety-related areas;

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A bachelor's degree in financial management, business management, occupational safety and health, or risk management;
  • Four years of professional work experience within loss prevention and safety;
  • Considerable knowledge of regulations related to EPA, state, and federal requirements;
  • Valid driver's license;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to lead assigned employees and make oral presentations to department management, other departments, or the public;

Preferred Qualifications
We welcome candidates with experience in applying OSHA standards, state, federal, and regulatory requirements, as well as utilizing risk management information systems. If you have a strong background in conducting accident investigations and safety inspections, creating and reviewing policy, and analyzing safety performance and worker's compensation trends, we encourage you to apply.

Working Conditions
This position requires the ability to carry items up to 15 lbs, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, walk, climb, set, kneel, crouch, reach, crawl, lift, and handle material with manual dexterity. All duties will be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
