In the role of Lead Propulsion Systems Engineer, you will be instrumental in the Space Systems Innovation (SSI) division, where cutting-edge concepts and systems are being crafted to promote sustainable living and working in extraterrestrial environments.
- Direct and oversee a propulsion engineering team for spacecraft, managing the entire lifecycle of the system from initial design to operational deployment.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to design, acquire, construct, and evaluate propulsion systems.
- Supervise project timelines, financial plans, risk assessments, and task assignments, ensuring that project goals are achieved.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline
- Over 8 years of experience in propulsion or fluid dynamics
- Proficiency in propulsion system evaluation and supplier collaboration
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication abilities
Desirable Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline
- More than 10 years of experience in propulsion systems
- Background in cryogenic propulsion systems and human-rated systems
- Aspiration to pursue leadership roles in the future
