Advanced Analytics Scientist

Essential Qualifications:

1. A PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline is required.

2. A minimum of 3-4 years of relevant professional experience following the completion of your PhD (research roles are not included).

3. Proven expertise in Machine Learning and innovative ML methodologies, with a focus on signal processing and detection being advantageous.

4. Experience in deploying models into production environments, along with ongoing maintenance, enhancement, and performance monitoring of these models.

5. Full life-cycle experience is essential; however, MLOps and deployment responsibilities are managed by the engineering team.

Technical Skills Required:

1. Proficiency in AWS, particularly with core services, as the majority of tasks will be conducted using Sagemaker or Domino.

2. Experience working with time series data is crucial, as all datasets in this position will be time series based.

3. Knowledge of signal processing techniques applied to time series data.

4. Ability to utilize Python for developing training pipelines and models, focusing on writing code that engineers can implement in production (not application development).

5. Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks, such as Spark.

Interpersonal Skills:

1. Strong communication skills to engage with business stakeholders and manage expectations effectively, translating business terminology into mathematical concepts.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. While experience in the securities or finance sector is not mandatory, it is considered a plus.

2. A background in engineering would be beneficial, as collaboration between Data Science and Engineering teams is a focus area for improvement.
