Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team at ID Logistics. In this role, you will be responsible for managing distribution center associates and overseeing daily operations to ensure seamless logistics services.

About the Role:

As an Operations Supervisor, you will lead a team of hourly associates and provide guidance on tasks and projects to ensure successful completion. You will also investigate inventory discrepancies, identify issues with returned shipments, and ensure accurate documentation is completed. Additionally, you will direct physical inventories and sampling, manage key operational requirements within budget, and maintain a positive teamwork environment by listening and communicating with all associates.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote a safe and secure environment for Company associates, temporary employees, and customers' products.
  • Follow established operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies found through cycle counts and determine root cause of problem.
  • Identify any issues with returned shipments, notify the client, and process the returned shipments into stock.
  • Ensure that all proper written documentation is signed off and filed.
  • Direct and lead any physical inventories or samplings as requested by the customer to ensure the integrity of the inventory process.
  • Identify and research unique inventory occurrences to correct them prior to having to lock a bay or make an inventory adjustment.
  • Keep inventory and customer service Key Performance Data (KPI's) within customer requirements.
  • Manage key operational requirements within the budget and according to customers' requirements.
  • Build a positive teamwork environment by listening and communicating with all associates and coaching as appropriate.
  • Lead all customer service requirements for scheduling truck throughput flow and follow up to any receiving or shipping issues.
  • Cook and train associate to become successful and productive including issuance of training, performance plans or counseling as necessary.
  • Plan, assign, and supervise work of hourly inventory associates.
  • Plan, assign, and supervise work of hourly customer service associates.
  • Meet and exceed customer satisfaction through strong understanding of customer expectations.
  • Address and help resolve customer complaints both verbally and written directly and indirectly to include but not limited to shipping and receiving discrepancies.
  • Input payroll data (hours, comments) for hourly direct reports daily. Must be approved weekly.
  • Interviews applicants for hourly roles and makes hiring decisions in conjunction with the DCM.
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, in accordance with Food Safety Guidelines.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities and any other supervisory tasks as assigned in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.


Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need 3+ years of supervisory experience in a distribution, 3PL, or warehouse environment. A Bachelor's Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain, or general business preferred. Experience with WMS software required Manhattan Scale or Red Prairie a plus. Strong Microsoft Office experience including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with time keeping; ADP E-Time is a plus. Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Able to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
