Job Overview:

We are seeking skilled professionals to become part of our dedicated team. The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is on the lookout for a dependable Facility Maintenance Technician to manage a variety of essential maintenance tasks and responsibilities. This role encompasses general upkeep, repairs, and construction duties, including preventive maintenance across various systems such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and kitchen equipment within the Arizona State Prison Complex - Douglas.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule maintenance projects, including cost estimation and material procurement.
- Execute maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks as per schedule.
- Complete necessary documentation in accordance with policies and supervisor directives.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using office equipment, including computers for research and documentation.
- Inspect and maintain tools and equipment to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Oversee and assess the performance of inmate workers.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Operate vehicles for state business as needed.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Familiarity with structural issues related to building and utility systems, including understanding blueprints and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in various trades such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance.
- Ability to manage budgets, including estimating costs and ordering supplies.
- Knowledge of tools and equipment necessary for maintenance tasks.
- Understanding of OSHA guidelines and relevant building codes.

Skills:
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Mechanical and electrical maintenance skills.
- Proficient in using common and specialized tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to build and maintain effective working relationships.

Qualifications:
- Experience in technical or general maintenance roles.
- Relevant technical education or training from specialized trade schools.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Successful completion of a background check, drug screening, and medical examination is mandatory.
- Compliance with annual Tuberculosis (TB) testing is required.
- If driving is part of the job, a valid driver's license and clean driving record are essential.
