Lead Construction Facilities Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Facilities Engineer Lead to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our Construction Projects Engineering group, you will play a critical role in the development, design, and execution of various projects, including medium-to-large scale renovations, site infrastructure upgrades, and new construction of office buildings, laboratories, and test facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Manage engineering responsibilities for all aspects of assigned tasks with limited direction while maintaining forward motion on key deliverables.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to function well as a member of a project execution team.
- Provide technical guidance during development, design, and execution of assigned projects.
- Facilitate scope/requirements discussions with technical teams and customer during development of contract functional requirements.
- Review (or prepare): drawings, specifications, project schedules and cost estimates.
- In support of project execution phase, coordinate work activities with building owners, system owners, and compliance organizations.
- Work closely and interface with various internal and external (architectural, system and maintenance engineering, and regulatory compliance) organizations to accomplish program objectives.
- Provide proactive leadership for area of cognizance and implement change to improve existing processes.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 9 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 7 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of construction management, industry and building trade practice, techniques, codes, and standards.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products and computer aided design (CAD) drafting software.
