Job Summary:
We are seeking a Junior Financial Analyst to join our team in support of our government customer, the NAVAIR Comptroller, in Patuxent River, MD. The successful candidate will perform tasks related to operations in support of the NAVAIR Comptroller Accounting Department, including:
- Providing support to business process and accounting solutions for the accounting department.
- Responding to inquiries, assisting in resolving accounting discrepancies, and preparing supporting documentation.
- Applying standard operating procedures and assisting in obtaining necessary information to support accounting record reconciliation processes.
- Providing support for period end close, including Month End Close and Year End Close activities.
- Preparing and validating Journal Vouchers and creating Field Level Journal Voucher (FLJV) packages.
Key Responsibilities:
The Junior Financial Analyst will be responsible for:
- Performing financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions.
- Developing and maintaining financial models and forecasts.
- Providing financial data and analysis to support budgeting and forecasting.
- Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Providing support for financial audits and compliance.
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
- Three (3) years of work experience in finance or accounting.
- A Secret Clearance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with experience in NAWCAD/NAVAIR specific requirements, NAVY ERP experience/skill, and an AS/AA degree in a related field are preferred.
Education Substitution:
Candidates with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) additional years of related experience may be considered.
