Job Summary:

As a Clinical Research Nurse in our Oncology department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our clinical trials. You will work closely with our physician investigators to assess patients and ensure that they meet the objectives of our research protocols. Your expertise in oncology research will be essential in identifying and recruiting patients for our clinical trials, facilitating clinical testing, and coordinating patient care across multiple departments. You will also provide education to patients and their families regarding diagnosis, clinical trials, and investigational chemotherapy. Additionally, you will be responsible for nursing oversight of investigational chemotherapy treatment and ensuring that chemotherapy orders are written according to dosing guidelines defined by the clinical trial.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients and ensure that they meet the objectives of our research protocols
  • Identify and recruit patients for our clinical trials
  • Facilitate clinical testing and coordinate patient care across multiple departments
  • Provide education to patients and their families regarding diagnosis, clinical trials, and investigational chemotherapy
  • Nursing oversight of investigational chemotherapy treatment
  • Ensure that chemotherapy orders are written according to dosing guidelines defined by the clinical trial

Requirements:
  • Current valid Michigan RN license
  • OCN certification required within three (3) years of hire into the position
  • ACRP or SOCRA certification preferred
  • Two (2) years of progressive oncology research experience preferred
  • Ability to utilize computer software to access and input data
