Clinical Oncology Research Coordinator RN

As a Clinical Oncology Research Coordinator RN, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our oncology research protocols. You will work closely with physician investigators to assess patient eligibility, coordinate patient care, and facilitate clinical testing. Your expertise in oncology research will enable you to provide education to patients and their families regarding diagnosis, clinical trials, and investigational chemotherapy. You will also be responsible for nursing oversight of investigational chemotherapy treatment and ensuring that chemotherapy orders are written according to dosing guidelines defined by the clinical trial.
Responsibilities:
Conduct patient assessments and determine eligibility for clinical trials
Coordinate patient care across multiple departments and disciplines
Facilitate clinical testing and check results to determine patient eligibility
Provide education to patients and their families regarding diagnosis, clinical trials, and investigational chemotherapy
Ensure that chemotherapy orders are written according to dosing guidelines defined by the clinical trial
Triage patient clinical needs, including immediate and delayed reactions from investigational agents
Initiate direct admissions to the hospital and referrals to Behavioral Health, Homecare, and/or Hospice as appropriate
Requirements:
Current valid Michigan RN license
OCN certification required within three years of hire
ACRP or SOCRA certification preferred
Two years of progressive oncology research experience preferred
Ability to utilize computer software to access and input data
