Job Summary:

Excellus BlueCross BlueShield Inc is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our customer service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers, resolving their inquiries and issues in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Document and research customer inquiries to ensure accurate and efficient resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex customer issues.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to improve customer service skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of software applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Performance rating of Performing or above for past 12 months.
  • Ability to support specialized groups to provide custom rules and regulations.
  • Ability to assist with job shadowing and new employee training.
  • Advanced system and navigational skills.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position working in a normal office environment under fluorescent lighting. Ability to use a headset to listen to customer conversations required. Must be able to function while sitting at a desk viewing a computer and using a keyboard and mouse for 3 or more hours at a time.
