Role Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the functionality and upkeep of all computer information services.
  • Skilled in maintaining and repairing both workstations and laptops, with proficiency in both commercial and government software.
  • Conduct software maintenance, upgrades, and the installation of new applications, including debugging and system checks.
  • Monitor network and client/server communications to ensure system availability and troubleshoot data communication issues.
  • Assist in automating report generation processes.
  • Utilize diagnostic commands to identify and resolve system issues.
  • Refer to technical manuals for communications hardware and software to understand and rectify problems.
  • Provide user training on LAN/WAN usage and troubleshooting methods.
  • Document LAN/WAN system malfunctions and the actions taken to resolve them.
  • Update documentation to reflect new equipment installations and changes in configurations.
  • Install communication mediums, including copper, fiber, and microwave equipment.
  • Participate in staff meetings to address and resolve ongoing data communication challenges.
  • Ensure system maintenance and implement necessary changes.
  • Support users with data communication issues, including transmission failures.
  • Review user procedures to ensure compliance with established protocols.
  • Explain necessary procedures for data entry, compilation, and transmission.
  • Collaborate with staff and government personnel to maintain standard configurations for file servers and workstations.
  • Ensure data backups are created and maintained for system restoration in case of failures.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for end users and management.
  • Identify and implement improvements to the LAN/WAN infrastructure.
  • Work closely with Cyber Security to fulfill requirements for Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians, performing maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Assist government personnel with CMS duties as needed.
  • Be cross-trained and qualified to operate multiple TACTS systems.
  • Document maintenance activities in the IEMS system.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Formal education equivalent to Navy "C" School or vocational training in electronic equipment maintenance.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in client and server operating systems installation and maintenance, including:
  1. Completion of DoD corporate training requirements, including Information Assurance Training, CPR, and First Aid.
  2. Security + Certification.
  3. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  4. Experience with DoD approved client/server operating systems.
  5. Knowledge of LAN/WAN technology, including advanced configuration of switches, routers, and related equipment.
  6. Experience in database design, installation, operation, and maintenance.
  7. Familiarity with communication media technologies, including copper, fiber, and microwave.
Proficient in English, both written and spoken.Valid state driver's license and a safe driving record as per company policy.Ability to pass drug/alcohol testing and a criminal background check.Flexibility to work day or night shifts as operational needs dictate.
