Job Summary

Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation (THTBC) is seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation Systems Field Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering Work Center, you will be responsible for installing new equipment on the range and into facilities, modifying existing equipment, and providing troubleshooting assistance for communication systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the installation of new equipment on the range and into facilities, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Modify existing equipment to meet changing requirements, utilizing expertise in electronics maintenance and repair.
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance for communication systems, identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Work Center to design, fabricate, and integrate new projects, ensuring compliance with TTR communication and video requirements.
  • Support new requirements, including integration of system modifications, range reconfigurations, and new facility buildups, as defined by Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
  • Relocate equipment, conducting cost analysis optimization studies, engineering studies, and integration to support range growth or other requirements.
  • Assist in identifying sources of spare parts for systems, ensuring timely availability and minimizing downtime.
  • Perform complex system analysis and troubleshooting to restore mission support systems to operational availability status.
  • Document maintenance actions in Integrated Enterprise Management Systems (IEMS), maintaining accurate records for future reference.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy 'C' School or vocational school with formal training in electronic equipment maintenance and equipment manufacturer training.
  • Five years' technical experience with Tactical Training Range systems or equivalent military systems.
  • Five years of instrumentation experience in areas such as fiber optics, electromagnetic waves, antennas, optical systems, communications systems, video signal processing, and microwave transmission.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain interim Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a fully adjudicated Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • Tower Climb Certified.
  • Possess Security+ or similar IAT II certificate.
  • Must maintain licenses and/or credentials required for this position.
  • Must possess the ability to interact well with others in a team setting or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
  • Highly motivated, flexible, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
  • Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
