Accounting Specialist

A great UHY client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support our accounting department in maintaining accurate financial records and processing transactions.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and proficiency in accounting software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Process invoices, expense reports, and payments in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure proper documentation.
- Reconcile bank statements and assist with month-end closing processes.
- Prepare and maintain financial reports and spreadsheets.
- Respond to inquiries from vendors and customers regarding billing and payments.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Perform data entry and maintain organized filing systems for financial documents.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Previous experience as an accounting clerk or in a related role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
