Medical Director

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality medical care to offenders, employees, and visitors, adhering to institutional and departmental safety policies and procedures.
- Provide primary ambulatory medical care, including patient history, examinations, lab or x-ray ordering, and treatment planning and execution.
- Ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees, assessing risks and implementing appropriate precautions.
- Utilize leadership skills to delegate and direct nursing staff, and may perform minor surgical and orthopedic procedures.
- Refer patients to medical specialists and coordinate medical care as necessary.
- Provide immediate care for medical emergencies and participate in regional after-hours call.

Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice medicine by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners.
