Mortgage Underwriter Job Description

At OwnersChoice Funding, we're dedicated to serving the unique mortgage requirements of credit unions and their members. As a Mortgage Underwriter, you'll play a crucial role in our team's success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prudently underwrite mortgage loan requests to authorized lending limits in accordance with company and investor guidelines.
  • Complete and submit government and credit union reports.
  • Underwrite loans, including pre-qualification, pre-approvals, loan approvals, denials, and counter offers.
  • Clear underwriting conditions prior to closing.
Requirements:
  • At least two years of experience as an Underwriter.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Accuracy and customer satisfaction orientation.
  • Knowledge of mortgage software and understanding of state and federal loan regulations.
