The Senior Analyst in Leveraged Finance is tasked with managing a dedicated portfolio of business clients, ensuring the effective administration of credit and loan services. This role encompasses the evaluation and underwriting of leveraged finance opportunities, including leveraged buyouts and corporate restructuring initiatives. The position also emphasizes customer relationship management and retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth financial evaluations of potential leveraged finance opportunities, focusing on historical performance, projected cash flows, and collateral assessments.
- Perform detailed credit evaluations for leveraged lending transactions, including buyouts and recapitalizations.
- Independently assess and manage First American Bank's risk profile through regular financial reviews of existing clients, analyzing transaction viability and identifying potential risk factors.
- Exercise decision-making authority in loan approvals for current business clients, including credit assessments and collateral evaluations.
- Oversee and mentor Commercial Loan Analysts, guiding their professional growth and enhancing team effectiveness.
- Review loan documentation for accuracy and collaborate with clients to finalize agreements.
- Monitor the performance of the leveraged finance portfolio, ensuring compliance with covenants and conducting periodic evaluations.
- Provide expert advice to clients on a wide range of banking products and services, tailoring recommendations to meet their specific business needs.
- Stay informed on market trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in leveraged finance and commercial lending.
- Complete additional projects and assignments as directed by management.
- A Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting is required.
- A minimum of four years of experience in commercial credit analysis or a related field, preferably within leveraged finance.
- Ability to work autonomously while also providing guidance to team members and managing multiple priorities.
- Strong understanding of commercial loan transactions, including credit approvals and loan structuring.
- Detail-oriented with a solid foundation in financial analysis and accounting principles.
- Self-motivated and adaptable, with a collaborative approach to work.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, with the capability to prepare and review various documents and reports.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for training and bank functions.
- Typical working hours are Monday through Friday, with flexibility required based on business needs.
- Hybrid work arrangements are available.
