Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Communicare KY. As a key member of our Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit, you will play a vital role in providing residential services to adults in crisis.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Licensed Clinical Social Workers with unit/milieu protocol.
  2. Provide a safe and therapeutic environment by conducting regular consumer checks and assisting with the implementation of treatment plans.
  3. Conduct consumer education groups as directed by management.
  4. Assist with admissions and discharges, providing orientation to newly admitted consumers.
  5. Support nursing staff with vital signs, documentation, and emergency procedures.
  6. Conduct phone screenings and link consumers with appropriate services.
  7. Assist with daily living activities, meal preparation, and transportation.
  8. Maintain required training and certifications, including de-escalation and safe physical management.
  9. Ensure the safety of consumers in emergency situations.
  10. Document consumer interactions and progress according to Mental Health Technician protocol.
  11. Assist in training new Mental Health Technicians.
Requirements
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. 2 years of in-patient experience, with psychiatric experience preferred.
  3. Basic knowledge of MS Office and analytical skills.
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality.
